Deona Marie’s 32nd Birthday Cake Memorial in Minneapolis

A birthday cake with lit candles marks what would have been Deona Marie's 32nd birthday. Marie was killed on June 13th in Minneapolis when a vehicle drove through barricades during a protest. The protest was held in response to the police killing of Winston Smith, who had been shot by officers from a Federal Task Force serving a warrant. Nicholas Kraus was identified as the driver who struck Marie and other protesters.
