Minneapolis Chalk Art: Happy Birthday Deona Marie

Chalk art on Lake Street in Minneapolis commemorates Deona Marie, who was killed on June 13th while protesting the law enforcement shooting death of Winston Smith on June 3rd. Nicholas Kraus drove his vehicle into a barricade, killing Marie. The chalk message reads, "Happy Birthday Deona Marie. We will continue your legacy fighting white supremacy."
