Powderhorn Community Art Project: Together / apART

The "Together / apART" project, initiated at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, invited the Powderhorn community to create a collective bonding and solidarity experience from their homes. This public art and cultural documentation project features shared imagery, words, and symbols cut into steel pieces, forming a quilt stretched across the CAFAC parking yard fence. Following the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police, the project expanded to address the pandemic of structural racism and white supremacy that predated Covid-19, prompting reflection on community and division in Minneapolis.
