The Target flagship store at Nicollet Mall and South 9th Street in downtown Minneapolis is boarded up and closed on June 4, 2020. Temporary plywood covers the ground-level windows and entrances, and posted notices state that the store is temporarily closed. The closures came during the period of unrest and protests in Minneapolis following the May 25 killing of George Floyd, when businesses across the city center took protective measures.
