While driving through, Lang along with his private security repeatedly assaulted counter protesters as well as the media. Lang has been holding racist protests around the country and this is the second time he’s attempted to hold such an event in Minneapolis. On January 17, 2026 he arrived with about 5 others for a march he had planned. Instead, protesters chased him through downtown where he eventually fled into and out of the back door of a hotel and into the vehicle operated by a good samaritan who wasn’t aware of what was going on. Minneapolis provided a statement later in the day stating that Jake Lang was arrested along with all the others in his 2 vehicles for probable cause riot.
Minneapolis Police stated that one officer had their foot or ankle driven over by one of the 2 vehicles.
