Spirit Airlines A320 N904NK on the Ramp at MSP Airport
Spirit Airlines Airbus A320 tail marked N904NK on the tarmac at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport.
N904NK is an Airbus A320-271N, part of the A320neo family that Spirit Airlines has used to expand its ultra-low-cost operations. Spirit added Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport to its route network in 2011, operating alongside Delta Air Lines, which maintains a hub there. The airline's yellow livery dates to a 2014 rebrand intended to make its jets easy to identify on ramps across the country. The -271N designation s Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-JM geared turbofan engines, which Airbus offers on the neo variant to reduce fuel consumption compared with earlier A320 models.
