15 defendants indicted in a $94 million fraud tied to the Feeding Our Future case

On May 21, 2026, the Department of Justice held a press conference in Minneapolis to announce an indictment charging 15 defendants in a fraud case valued at approximately $94 million. The announcement brought together some of the most senior federal law enforcement and health officials in the country.
The press conference was convened by HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., CMS Administrator Mehmet Oz, White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud Vice Chair Andrew Ferguson, U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen, and FBI Deputy Director Christopher Raia. Colin McDonald, newly appointed as Assistant Attorney General for the National Fraud Enforcement Division, delivered a pointed warning to those not yet charged, telling them their "days of frolicking and freedom are numbered."
The announcement came on the heels of a significant sentencing in a related case. Aimee Bock, whom the DOJ identifies as the mastermind behind the Feeding Our Future scheme, had just received a 42-year prison sentence for her role in a $240 million fraud involving a federally funded children's meal program.
The Feeding Our Future prosecution is among the largest pandemic-era fraud cases in the country and has been central to the Minneapolis News series for several years. Earlier instalments followed the initial charges, the years of trials, and the gradual sentencing of dozens of defendants. This press conference marks a new phase: federal authorities signaling that the investigation is not closed and that additional defendants remain in their sights.
