This tie plate, stenciled 2-2768T and tagged for car CS2788 Truck 2 West, is part of the rail hardware inventory for the Southwest LRT extension in Minneapolis. The Southwest LRT, known as the Green Line Extension, is a light-rail project run by Metro Transit and the Metropolitan Council, linking downtown Minneapolis to Eden Prairie over roughly 14.5 miles and 16 stations. Components like this plate distribute the load between rail and crosstie, a basic but essential part of track construction.
