The station was set on fire during protests that followed the killing of George Floyd, and its burning became one of the most widely recognized moments of the unrest in Minneapolis. Visible street signage and the transit shelter place the photograph along the East Lake Street corridor, a major commercial and transportation route in south Minneapolis.
