Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant, 4th of July

Boaters travel north on the Mississippi River near Red Wing, Minnesota, with the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant on the far bank at dusk. The plant, located upriver from downtown Red Wing, is a two-reactor nuclear power station operated on Prairie Island along the Mississippi. The boats were on the river during the Independence Day holiday period in early July 2022, when traffic on this stretch of the river increases for evening recreation and nearby fireworks displays.
