Omaha Grain Silos with Graffiti Murals

Grain silos like these once stored the harvests that made Omaha a major hub of the Midwest grain trade, their concrete columns built tall and round to resist the outward pressure of stored grain. Decommissioned elevators such as this one have become informal canvases for muralists and graffiti artists, who work the lower sections within reach while the upper cylinders remain bare concrete. The result is a shifting gallery of painted panels along an otherwise industrial structure, changing as new work replaces old over time.
