Drummers on battletrain — The Southside Battletrain participates in the annual MayDay Parade in South Minneapolis in 2024. This distinctive mobile art and music installation, featuring drummers, fire effects, and repurposed materials, including a sign reading 'DANGER BLASTING KEEP OUT!', is a highlight of the community event. The parade route traversed Bloomington Avenue before turning onto 34th Street, concluding at Powderhorn Park. Organized by In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre, the MayDay Parade has been a significant cultural tradition in South Minneapolis since 1975, celebrating spring, community, and social justice themes.
