Letters stacked up inside Uptown Theater
These are the letters that once adorned the Uptown Theater marquee on Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis. The theater, a landmark in the Uptown neighborhood, ceased operations during the COVID-19 pandemic when Landmark Theatres closed its doors. The removal of these letters signifies the end of an era for the historic cinema, which has been a cultural fixture in the city for decades.
