“Extinction Rebellion” and “Fuck Trump 2020” Stickers on a Minneapolis Pole

Extinction Rebellion is an international movement founded in the UK in 2018 that uses nonviolent civil disobedience to demand government action on climate change. Its logo, an hourglass inside a circle, appears on the sticker as a warning of time running out for species extinction. The nearby "5 Demands for Emergency COVID-19 Survival" sticker lists calls common to mutual aid networks during the pandemic, including free healthcare, suspended rent and debt, and the release of detainees. Together the stickers reflect the overlapping political movements — anti-Trump, climate, and pandemic-era mutual aid — that circulated on Minneapolis streets in 2020.
