McNamara Terminal Concourse A, Detroit Metropolitan Airport

McNamara Terminal opened in 2002 at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, replacing older facilities as Northwest Airlines' main hub and later becoming Delta's principal Detroit terminal after the 2008 merger. Concourse A runs more than a mile end to end and connects to Concourses B and C via the airport's underground Express Tram system. The terminal was designed by Smith Group and Ghafari Associates, with retail and dining corridors built to handle Delta's high volume of connecting passengers. Stores like The Body Shop and Spanx operate alongside other national retail brands along the concourse's main walkway.
