Kiln, Mississippi, is the hometown of Brett Favre, the Hall of Fame quarterback who grew up here before starring at Hancock High School. This roadside mural marks that connection, pairing helmets from the four NFL teams Favre played for — the Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, and New York Jets — with the phrase "Where the Legend Began." Favre spent the bulk of his career with the Packers, where he won a Super Bowl following the 1996 season and set numerous passing records before later stints in Minnesota and with the Jets. The small unincorporated community, part of Hancock County near the Mississippi Gulf Coast, has leaned into its association with Favre as a point of local identity.
