Hennepin County Medical Center boarded up during Chauvin trial

Hennepin County Medical Center, located at 717 South 7th Street in Minneapolis, Minnesota, had its windows boarded up during the trial of Derek Chauvin in April 2021. The hospital, a major public health facility serving the Twin Cities, was secured as a precautionary measure amidst concerns of potential unrest following the verdict in the murder trial of George Floyd. The plywood coverings served to protect the building's facade from damage during a period of heightened public tension and protests.
