Basílica Catedral Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia in Higüey, Dominican Republic, is a Roman Catholic basilica and one of the country’s principal pilgrimage destinations. Completed in 1971, the church was designed by French architects André-Jacques Dunoyer de Segonzac and Pierre Dupré in reinforced concrete, with twin towering forms framing the main entrance. The basilica is dedicated to Our Lady of Altagracia, the patroness of the Dominican Republic, and receives large crowds for the annual feast day on January 21.
