George Floyd mural removed from George Floyd Square before snow

Community members carefully dismantle a mural dedicated to George Floyd at George Floyd Square in Minneapolis. The artwork, a significant symbol of remembrance and protest following Floyd's murder in May 2020, was removed as a winter storm approached. The square, located at the intersection of Chicago Avenue and 38th Street, became a focal point for demonstrations against racial injustice and police brutality. The removal of the mural signifies a complex chapter in the ongoing memorialization and community engagement at this historically charged location.
