The Midtown Greenway, a 5.5-mile-long rail-with-trail corridor, traverses south Minneapolis, providing a dedicated path for cyclists and pedestrians. Developed from a former railway corridor, primarily the Milwaukee Road's Short Line, it officially opened as a multi-use path in 2000.
