Hyundai Anti-Theft Mobile Clinic, Minneapolis

Hyundai's mobile clinic event in Minneapolis offered free steering wheel locks and software updates to owners of vehicles targeted in a wave of thefts linked to a social media trend exploiting a security flaw in certain models. The flaw, which allowed some Hyundai and Kia vehicles to be started without a key, prompted lawsuits and a class-action settlement requiring the automakers to fund anti-theft measures and reimburse affected owners. Hyundai has run similar pop-up clinics in cities across the country as part of that response.
