Whipple Building Fence: Dildos and Ribbons, Minneapolis

Protesters adorned a fence at the Whipple Building in Minneapolis with dildos and ribbons during Operation Metro Surge in 2020.
The Whipple Building in Minneapolis was utilized as a temporary holding facility and staging area for federal agents during Operation Metro Surge in the summer of 2020. The building's perimeter was secured with fencing, which became a site for protest and artistic expression. Protestors adorned the fence with numerous objects, including dildos and ribbons, in defiance of the federal presence and immigration policies. This area had been a focal point for demonstrations since December of the previous year.
