A Wendy’s restaurant on Minnehaha Avenue in Minneapolis burns late on May 27, 2020, during the first nights of unrest after the killing of George Floyd. Flames and heavy smoke rise from behind the one-story brick building, while graffiti on the walls includes anti-police and anti-capitalist messages. The fast-food restaurant was one of numerous commercial properties damaged or destroyed in the area as protests and confrontations spread across the city.
