Burned Strip Mall Rubble, Lake Street, Minneapolis

The burned remains of a strip mall on Lake Street in Minneapolis fill the foreground, with piles of brick, twisted metal, and collapsed roofing left after a fire. A Dollar General sign is still visible on one surviving section of the commercial building behind the rubble. The damage dates to the unrest and protests that followed the killing of George Floyd in May 2020, when multiple businesses along the Lake Street corridor were burned or destroyed.
