Mushroom Head

Mushroomhead performed at Rock Fest in Cadott, Wisconsin, on July 13, 2023. The Cleveland-formed heavy metal band, known since 1993 for their elaborate masks, costumes, and pyrotechnic-heavy live shows, brought that full production to the Chippewa Valley festival grounds.

Rock Fest has been held annually in Cadott since the mid-1990s, growing into one of the largest hard rock and heavy metal festivals in the Midwest. It draws fans from across the country for a multi-day lineup that mixes established names with emerging acts in the genre.

Mushroomhead's appearance placed them within that tradition of theatrical metal performance that Rock Fest has long made room for on its stages. The band's refusal to soften their visual identity or stage production over three decades has kept them a fixture on the festival circuit, and their Cadott set continued that pattern.
