On the opening day of the Derek Chauvin trial, protesters gathered in Downtown Minneapolis to march and rally. Chauvin, a former Minneapolis police officer, was accused of murdering George Floyd on May 25, 2020. The protest signifies the ongoing public response to Floyd's death and the subsequent calls for justice and police reform.
