Tear gas fills Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis on January 24, 2026, following the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. This incident marked the second person killed and third person shot by federal agents in the city that month, during what was known as Operation Metro Surge.
