Curved Printing Plate at the Star Tribune Plant

This curved metal plate carries reversed, raised text once used to print pages at the Star Tribune's Minneapolis printing facility. Plates like this were mounted on rotary presses, where the raised letters picked up ink and transferred it directly onto rolling newsprint. The Star Tribune ended printing operations at this Minneapolis plant on December 27, 2025, shifting production to a Gannett facility in Des Moines, Iowa.
