“Does ICE Make You Sick?” Strike Poster on a Minneapolis Pole

A protest poster in Minneapolis calls for a strike on 1/23 against ICE.
A protest poster in Minneapolis calls for a strike on 1/23 against ICE.

A poster affixed to a wooden pole reads, "DOES ICE MAKE YOU SICK? CALL OUT OF WORK ON 1/23 NO WORK JAN 23 NO SCHOOL JAN 23 NO SHOPPING SOCIALIST ALTERNATIVE." The poster is a call for a general strike and boycott in Minneapolis on January 23rd, protesting immigration enforcement policies. This protest was organized in response to the killing of Renee Good and the federal occupation of Minneapolis. The call for a "call out of work" and boycott aimed to disrupt daily life and express opposition to ICE's actions and the broader context of immigration enforcement in the Twin Cities.
