A METRO Blue Line light rail train approaches the E 26th Street grade crossing near downtown Minneapolis. The Blue Line, operated by Metro Transit, connects downtown Minneapolis to the Mall of America and Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport along a corridor of shared rail and street-level crossings. This segment runs through a mixed industrial and residential area south of downtown, following former railroad right-of-way converted for light rail use.
