A handmade sign at George Floyd Square reads "THERE IS BLOOD ON THE LEAVES IN AUSTIN, MN" and "Justice 4 Kokou." The sign refers to Kokou Christopher Fiafonou, who was killed by law enforcement in Austin, Minnesota, on December 23, 2021. Authorities stated Fiafonou was armed with a knife and threatening others at the time of the incident.
