Protesters gathered in Minneapolis in June 2021 to demand justice for Dolal Idd. This march occurred in South Minneapolis, near the location where the fatal shooting took place. On December 30, 2020, Minneapolis police officers fatally shot 23-year-old Dolal Idd during a traffic stop on Cedar Avenue. Authorities said officers were attempting to arrest Idd in connection with a felony weapons investigation when shots were fired. The killing marked the first fatal shooting by Minneapolis police since the murder of George Floyd earlier in the year on May 25th. The killing took place about a mile from where Floyd was killed.
