Hi-Lo Diner at Night, Lake Street Minneapolis
The Hi-Lo Diner, a restored 1950s Fodero dining car, glows with neon and interior lighting on East Lake Street in Minneapolis. Originally built in New Jersey, this diner car was transported to Minnesota and refurbished before reopening in 2016. Its stainless-steel exterior and classic mid-century design evoke the golden age of American roadside diners. The Hi-Lo Diner continues to serve as a neighborhood gathering spot and a significant architectural artifact on Lake Street, a corridor known for its diverse commercial history.
