Great Dialogues of Plato Paperback, Uptown Minneapolis

"Great Dialogues of Plato" is a Mentor Classics paperback that gathers W.H.D. Rouse's English translations of several core Platonic texts, including "The Republic," "Apology," "Crito," "Phaedo," "Meno," and "Ion." The Mentor Classics line, published by New American Library starting in the 1940s and 1950s, was aimed at bringing philosophy and literature to a mass paperback audience at low cost. This particular copy turned up left on a ledge in Uptown Minneapolis in October 2023, its cover worn and spine cracked from age and handling.
