Five raised fist sculptures, memorials to George Floyd and Amir Locke, stand covered in snow at George Floyd Square in Minneapolis. The intersection, which became a focal point for activism and remembrance following the murder of George Floyd in 2020 and the killing of Amir Locke in 2022, has remained a site for community mourning and protest. Amir Locke was killed earlier in the month by Minneapolis Police officers during a no knock warrant at a Downtown Minneapolis apartment building. The blankets around the fist refers to the blanket that Amir Locke was covered in when shot.
