Protesters gather at George Floyd Square in Minneapolis in April 2021, marking the 17th day of demonstrations following the murder of George Floyd. This intersection, formerly known as the intersection of 38th Street and Chicago Avenue, became a focal point for racial justice protests and a symbol of community resistance. The square was established by activists and residents in the days following Floyd's death on May 25, 2020, and remained a site of ongoing activism and community organizing.
