Free Food Table, South Minneapolis

Free food sign and sidewalk supply table in South Minneapolis.
A hand-lettered “FREE FOOD” sign in South Minneapolis directs residents to a sidewalk distribution table stocked with canned goods, produce, and other supplies. The sign identifies the Central Area Neighborhood Development Organization, which organized the mutual-aid food table during the unrest following the killing of George Floyd in late May 2020. Set up along a residential street, the table provided basic groceries in an area where normal access to food had been disrupted.
