The Excalibur Hotel and Casino opened on the Las Vegas Strip in 1990, built around a medieval castle theme designed by Veldon Simpson, the architect also behind Luxor and Treasure Island. At 4,032 rooms, it ranked among the largest hotels in the world at the time of its opening. The property is owned and operated by MGM Resorts International. Its entrance arcade, lined with stone-finished columns and chandeliers, leads guests from the porte-cochère into the casino floor.
