Graffiti memorializing Deona Marie is visible on a parking garage along Lake Street in Minneapolis. The area had been a site of protests following the June 2021 killing of Winston Smith by a federal task force. Ten days after Smith's death, Deona Marie was killed when a vehicle drove through protest barricades on Lake Street.
