George Floyd Square in Minneapolis is seen under a haze of smoke from Canadian wildfires, which caused record-breaking air quality issues in Minnesota. The intersection, formerly known as the "Cup Foods" corner, became a focal point of protests and a memorial following the murder of George Floyd in May 2020. The area has been transformed into a community space and a site of remembrance, marked by murals, tributes, and barricades.
