The Hennepin County Government Center, a 24-story building completed in 1975 at 300 South Sixth Street, houses county courts and the offices of the Hennepin County Attorney. Crime victims and their families gathered outside the building for a rally called "Rally for Justice," organized to protest charging decisions made under County Attorney Mary Moriarty, who took office in January 2023. Speakers at similar demonstrations have criticized the office for declining to file charges or for offering plea agreements in violent crime cases.
