Resting Capybara, Sustainable Safari at Maplewood Mall

The capybara is the world's largest rodent, native to South America's wetlands and river basins. This one lives at Sustainable Safari, an indoor wildlife attraction inside Maplewood Mall in Maplewood, Minnesota. Capybaras are semi-aquatic and highly social in the wild, typically living in groups near rivers, lakes, and marshes. Adults can weigh over 100 pounds and are known for their calm, easygoing temperament, which has made them popular attractions at zoos and wildlife exhibits.
