Hagen’s Auto Body on Nicollet Avenue in South Minneapolis is pictured with its windows and doors boarded on May 30, 2020. The collision repair shop remained lit overnight, with a red “WE ARE OPEN” banner hanging on the brick facade and a message painted on the plywood reading, “WE HAVE BEEN PART OF THIS COMMUNITY FOR 50 YEARS AND WE CARE ABOUT IT.” The photograph was made during the fourth day of protests in Minneapolis following the death of George Floyd.
