Burned out lot used as a Living Room
This outdoor living space, dubbed the "Community Living Room," was established in the vacant lot formerly occupied by O'Reilly Auto Parts on Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis. The space was created in the aftermath of the 2020 Minneapolis Uprising, serving as a gathering place and symbol of community resilience. It features salvaged furniture, including a sofa and chairs, arranged on a rug, with a coffee table made from repurposed materials. The presence of a green recycling bin, marked as property of the City of Minneapolis, indicates the site's temporary use and its integration into the urban environment.
