Shimbashi Station's Ginza Line platform serves trains toward Toranomon, Akasaka-mitsuke, Omote-sando, and Shibuya. The Ginza Line opened in stages between 1927 and 1939, making it the first subway line built in Asia. Tokyo Metro operates the line today, connecting Shibuya and Asakusa across 19 stations. Shimbashi itself is a transfer point serving the Yurikamome line as well, linking the Ginza Line network to Tokyo Bay's waterfront districts.
