Members of the Minnesota National Guard patrol Lake Street in Minneapolis on May 30, 2020, passing boarded and graffiti-marked storefronts amid debris left on the street. The deployment came after several nights of fires and property damage during protests following the death of George Floyd. Lake Street, a major commercial corridor in south Minneapolis, was among the areas most heavily affected, and National Guard units were sent to support security operations and protect businesses and residents.
