Traffic flows through the LynLake district of Minneapolis at South Dupont and Bryant Avenue, a neighborhood long known as a crossroads between Uptown and Whittier. Once a streetcar junction for the Twin City Rapid Transit Company, the area declined after the 1950s but later rebounded through waves of redevelopment and independent business growth. Today, LynLake blends historic brick storefronts with modern apartments and restaurants, reflecting Minneapolis’s broader push toward urban density and transit-oriented design along the former streetcar corridor.

The long awaited connection to Lake Street on Nicollet Avenue is getting closer to being finished. For many years Nicollet Avenue was split apart by a K-Mart store. The store was closed and eventually burned while it sat vacant.

A flyer urging people to call Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and demand he veto HF1, a bill repealing MinnesotaCare coverage for undocumented adults. The flyer has bold text reading “CALL WALZ TO TELL HIM: VETO HF1! PROTECT HEALTHCARE FOR IMMIGRANTS!” It states that the Minnesota House and Senate passed the bill and criticizes lawmakers for supporting it. The flyer provides a sample script for callers, emphasizing that denying healthcare to immigrants is inhumane and harmful to all residents. At the bottom, it lists the governor’s phone number: 651-201-3400, and includes the logo of MIRAC (Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee).
