Minneapolis Police 5th Precinct Fortified with Barricades and Razor Wire

The Minneapolis Police Fifth Precinct is shown fortified with concrete barriers and razor wire. This security measure was implemented in response to protests and civil unrest that occurred in Minneapolis following the murder of George Floyd in May 2020 and the subsequent trial of Derek Chauvin. The precinct, located in the Powderhorn neighborhood, also experienced heightened security during the trial of Kim Potter for the killing of Daunte Wright in April 2021. The barriers are a physical manifestation of the increased tensions and security concerns surrounding law enforcement facilities during periods of public outcry.
