The Minneapolis Police Department's Fifth Precinct, located in South Minneapolis, stands behind extensive security measures. Behind these, a chain-link fence and razor wire further secure the perimeter of the police station. These fortifications were installed following the widespread protests and civil unrest that occurred in Minneapolis in May and June 2020, in response to the murder of George Floyd.
