Minneapolis Police 3rd precinct fence removed

A man removes razor wire from the Minneapolis police third precinct police station. The razor wire was installed on the burned police station during the Derek Chauvin murder trial. The city says it’ll be taking the concrete barricades down and replacing it with typical fabric lined construction fencing. The building, which was famously burned by protesters following the murder of George Floyd, is being redeveloped into a “Democracy Center” that’ll be home to the city’s election services and community use.

Note:This image is from the October 2024 album of a continuing series following the unrest and events in Minneapolis after the May 25th, 2020 murder of George Floyd.

Captured on October 28, 2024.
